Mission: Let Coachtopia Know It Has Blood on Its Hands
Wondering what to do with fake blood left over from Halloween? 🩸 Use it to let Coachtopia know it has blood on its hands. Get all the deets below!
Coach’s new brand, Coachtopia, claims to offer “sustainable” products—but one of its most-hyped materials, “Coachtopia leather,” is basically ground-up scraps of skin from animals who were violently killed in the leather industry. 🤦♀️ The following are some of the things that happen in this industry:
- Cows are castrated and branded, often without painkillers.
- Before they’re killed, cows might be burned, electroshocked, or beaten.
- At slaughterhouses, workers typically stun cows, slit their throats, and tear off their skin—sometimes while the animals are still alive and kicking.
Besides being cruel af, leather production fuels climate change and deforestation and pollutes waterways with toxic chemicals. 😨 This isn’t sustainable—and puts countless lives at risk.
