Mission: Urge The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to Stop Upcharging for Vegan Milk!
Huge news: After a relentless PETA campaign, Starbucks—the largest coffee chain in the world—stopped charging extra for vegan milk! 🥳 This victory shows that speaking up for animals works, and we need your help again to convince The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to do the same.

Cows are smart animals with diverse personalities—each individual cow might be bold, shy, friendly, or bossy. But the dairy industry treats these complex animals like machines by forcibly impregnating them, kidnapping their babies, and sending them to slaughter once they can’t produce as much milk. 😢 The production of dairy also greatly contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water scarcity.
Every vegan milk upcharge prioritizes $$$ over animals, the planet, and customers’ health.

Charging more for non-dairy options discriminates against lactose-intolerant or otherwise dairy-free customers and punishes those choosing to make ethical and healthy choices. 😠
Hit Up The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
We know that pushing companies to make the right decision def pays off. It’s time for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to follow Starbucks’ lead and reward customers—not penalize them—for opting out of dairy. Please act now to help cows avoid suffering in the dairy industry and get cheaper non-dairy drinks!
1. Comment on one of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s IG posts urging the company to stop charging extra for non-dairy milk. You can use any of these points in your comment, but remember that using your own words is always more effective.
- I’m disappointed you are still upcharging for vegan milk options.
- Cows produce milk for the same reason humans do: to nourish their babies.
- In the dairy industry, cows are repeatedly artificially inseminated, and calves are taken from their mother’s side shortly after birth.
- Starbucks, Dutch Bros, Scooter’s Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee, Gregory’s Coffee, Panera Bread, Philz Coffee, Pret A Manager, and Stumptown Coffee Roasters have all ended their company’s upcharge, and it is time for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to follow suit.
- Until you stop upcharging for non-dairy milks, I’ll get coffee at Starbucks and other shops that don’t penalize caring consumers.
