Mission: Show Others Why They Shouldn’t Eat Lobsters 🦞

National Lobster Day (September 25) should be a time for appreciating lobsters—but instead, some humans “celebrate” it by eating these amazing animals. 😒 Help show everyone that lobsters are interesting individuals who deserve to live in peace!

Lobsters don’t look like us, so it might surprise you to know just how much we have in common with them. For example, they can live to be more than 100 years old, carry their young for nine months, and have a long childhood and an awkward adolescence. They can recognize each other, remember past acquaintances, and form complex social relationships. 🤯

We should respect lobsters and let them pursue their own interests—but humans eat tens of millions of them each year in the U.S. alone. Lobsters, like all animals, can feel pain. But unlike humans, they can’t go into shock—so when they’re dropped into a pot of boiling water, they feel everything until the sec they die. 😱 How screwed-up is it to treat them this way?!
