Zeus’ mother, Rhea, hid him from the Titan lord Cronus, who had swallowed their five previous children, on the island of Crete. There, the infant drank the milk of Amalthea the Goat. Goats, cows, and all other mammals make milk for their young. In the dairy industry, babies are stolen from their mothers so that humans can take their milk.
